Epic Unidragon Game Gallery

Swedens first game gallery, exhibiting electronic, interactive and transmedia arts, and home of the festival Electrodome.

It was a container gallery for a few years, as well as a test ground for dialogue on city planning, mobility and sustainable solutions like solar and wind power. A temporary part of an initiative to open up the Masthuggskajen area to the public and include culture activities while the construction plans for the future offices etc. were being set. The Epic Unidragon gallery is founded by Idun Isdrake at Playcentric Studios. Activities are run in collaboration with other artists, from 2018 the gallery has no physical space.

The spine and ninja on the main container is made by Sagie, the sketch below by Erik Jakobsson.

Gothenburg Culture Festival

Beats & Ord (Beats & Words) is an interactive installation stemming from the sound universe of hip hop made by Cat Eyed People’s Playground. As a visitor you are invited into the room to create and explore the beats that fill the space, and you are surrounded by signs with and without light presenting words taken from Swedish rap from the eighties and onwards. During the Gothenburg Culture Festival, August 20th 2016, a plastic wrap was up for everyone who wanted to try graffiti too.

HOME Gothenburg. Today many of us have moved, either by force or by choice. The six of us, based in different cities in Europe, are all movers and together we are exploring the concept of home and the creation of feeling home when moving and creating new homes. We believe that the more people understand about the feeling of home, the better one can relate to one’s neighbors. Hence, in this project, we are asking and reflecting on how might one take the feeling of home into one’s own hands and what are the needs we must meet to take home into one’s own hands while our communities continue to develop and people continue to move from place to place.

The project is part of the Balticlab 4.0 programme organised by the Swedish Institute and Council of the Baltic Sea States. And the interactions created and collected in Gothenburg will be content included in the programs final lab held in Moscow this September.

Group members: Alexander Bratt (Stockholm), Agnieszka Bułacik (Berlin), Samantha Hookway (Gothenburg), Szymon Keller (Barcelona), Elliot Silva (Berlin), Agnieszka Wojciechowicz (Oslo).

Spine

The spine on one side of my container was an artivist action against spineless power holders who destroy the culture scene in Gothenburg, copy and push away independent and citizen driven initiatives instead of collaborating. The container gallery attracted many social initiatives and young people, but the city and region gave no support.
